Onboarding Process of Services
When meeting for an initial assessment, your therapist will work to identify, analyze, evaluate, and address current issues prompting you to seek additional support at this time, pertinent history, familial dynamics, as well as barriers and strengths through active listening and questioning.
During an assessment process, your therapist's aim is to build the foundation of the therapeutic relationship. As such, your therapist will also walk alongside you to collaborate and develop a treatment plan to address specific goals.
Afterwards, a clinical diagnosis is made utilizing the DSM-V-TR based on symptoms discussed and medical necessity. Please note that when using insurance coverage for services, diagnoses made will be shared with your insurance company. As Kindred Therapy PLLC submits insurance claims for reimbursement, also note that insurance plans may permit or deny coverage services at their discretion.
Your therapist will talk through the diagnosis with you, as well as, explain the methods and tools they use (such as cognitive behavioral therapy or narrative therapy and/or mindfulness practices) to treat particular symptoms and how they will tailor approaches to help you meet the treatment goals identified.
Commitment- The initial stage of therapy, where you and your therapist make an agreement to devote time, focus, and energy to achieve specific treatment goals.
Process- The most complex stage of therapy, where your therapist focuses on clear patterns, triggers, and cycles contributing to symptoms experienced. This is also where specific therapeutic tools, strategies, and approaches will be taught and implemented to support you.
Change- This stage of therapy demonstrates the growth, and maintenance of therapy gains, and marks the success of services. This can also note the need to change treatment services to best suit current needs through a referral if needed.
Graduation- This marks the closure of therapy and the therapeutic relationship. You have built strategies and tools to independently address stressors and care for your emotional and mental well-being.
